I'm Still Alive!

I know you all must be worried sick about me considering I haven't written in about two weeks. Rest assured I am alive and well. I have just been extremely busy in my current nomadic state with work, apartment and job hunting, as well as a few impromptu trips to Charleston after my grandmother passed away.

Instead of boring you with all the details of the past two weeks, I'll give you a glimpse of what's been going on.

So let me give you a quick update via pictures!

Walking across the stage at graduation! That's right; I am officially FSU alumni!

Eliyah was not impressed with my headgear.

My friend Ryan and me at graduation!

Michaela (my niece) and me at the post-funeral family dinner.

All the Call Family grandkids with Grandpa Call.

Our entire branch of the Call Family.

So there you go! Just a quick update for all of you curious pups out there. Hopefully once I get settled I will be able to keep up with my blogging more! Until then..

xoxo

Lessons Learned

I am officially a college graduate!

In light of this I have decided to (attempt to) put into words the myriad of things learned in the past 4 years. Seeing as how that list would take days, I am merely going to highlight my Top 10. These are lessons learned from friends, experiences, and mostly trial and error.

1. If you want to have a fabulous day, upon waking up immediately listen to Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson. My friends Kelli and Mel can attest to this fact.

2. Mac'n Cheese is the best hangover food. Bar none. With maybe the slight exception of Taco Bell.

3. When walking into a party where you know absolutely no one, it is best to make a huge scene. That low profile stuff is overrated.

4. Always pack a pair of flats in your purse.

5. Make sure your best friend has the same phone charger as you.

6. Never put your room key in the "zippy pocket" on your cute, lace clutch. "Unreliable" would not even begin to cover it.

7. Sidewalk chalk, window markers and bubbles are not just for kids ages 3-12.

8. In order for your jumper cables to be effective they have to be placed on the metal part of your battery. Plastic is not a very good conductor. (Who knew?)

9. Marathons of any kind are acceptable weekend any day behavior (Gossip Girl, Gilmore Girls, SATC, etc.)

10. Pancakes with cookie dough bites are good but mostly just in theory.

Rainy Day Ramblings

dear finals
could you just be over already? it seems like everyone else has finished their projects, turned in their papers and aced their tests while I am still studying. there are "the semester's over" parties and joyous high-fiving all around me, and yet I cannot partake in any of it. I will officially be done with you tomorrow at 3 p.m. so if I could somehow obtain a universe fast forward button I'd be ecstatic.

dear bubble umbrella
I just love you! I used to see you at Target and think "if only..." so my mom bought you for me for my birthday a few weeks ago, but I have just had the opportunity to finally break you out today. let me tell you, kid, you did great!

dear moving day
you are rapidly approaching, and I am nowhere near ready. my room is a mess! and while I have moved some things to a friends to store, I am completely freaking out that you are merely 2 days away. I should probably stop blogging and go prepare for your arrival huh?

dear Krochet Kids
I am officially losing my mind! our interview for that summer internship was almost 2 weeks ago. I know you said you'd get back to me within 2 weeks and that "no news is good news," but when have I ever been mistaken for a patient person!? I just feel like my summer is in limbo until I get a yes or no from you's guys(a "yes" preferably). so until I hear from you I will be checking my email incessantly and driving my friends crazy talking about it. for my sanity and their's, please get back to me soon.

We Made it Through Another Week!

1.  My bedtime routine includes,  throw on some oversized sweatpants, brush my teeth, take my contacts out, plug in my phone, hit the lights.

2.   I am   super nervous these days! Finals, graduation, and waiting to hear back on a kick-ass internship in Costa Mesa, CA (fingers crossed!)  .

3.  I can't stand     feet       because     they are the most disgusting body part .

4. My idea of relaxation would be   a good book, a giant latte, and a park bench.

5. If I had an extra $50, I would    go buy this adorable pair of wedges I saw a few days ago at TJMaxx.

6. The best thing about a bloggy friend is    they know the "real" you. That may sound cliche, but I am never more open or honest than when writing a blog post.

7.  A recipe I've been dying to try is   my roommates and I actually tried out this recipe that was sort of like a taco casserole. I was a but skeptical, but it turned out to be delicious!

Have a good weekend, everyone!

Sunday Style Spotlight

In looking through my recent posts, I discovered that it has been ages since I've done a Style Spotlight. Seeing as how this blog started out solely dedicated to fashion, it's only right that I retreat back to my roots every once in a while, right?

So without further adieu, let me introduce the newest member of my lookbook:
Jenna Dewan-Tatum

She is a dancer, actress, and model who also happens to be married to one of Hollywood's hunkiest, Channing Tatum. I had heard of Jenna before of course, but just recently did her fashion sense catch my attention while flipping through a magazine. She is talented in looking effortlessly chic, something that I think all fashionistas aspire to.

Here are some photos of some of my favorite outfits by Jenna

Long floral skirts are definitely "in" for this spring and summer. I love that she paired such a girly piece with a  leather jacket. The contrast is amazing.

There are very few women that can rock the over-the-knee boot. Jenna Tatum is definitely one of them.

I love the wide-leg trouser look. And the scarf gives this outfit a little bit of funk.

Here she is again with the wide-leg trouser. This time paired with a loose t-shirt, a long scarf and a hat. I wish I could rock the hat. I don't think it would work in West Virginia. I also love the bag!

Again, we see the long skirt. I love this look for summer. Simple and comfortable, but she still looks fabulous. And paired with the Jackie-O inspired sunglasses and the fringe bag? Perfection.

I could go on and on and post 1,000 photos of Jenna Dewan-Tatum rocking some other impeccable outfits, but these few give you a glimpse of why I love her style. Needless to say, I will be adding these photos to my own personal "Style Board."

xoxo

Friday Mornin' Fun

1.  When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is  put my contacts in. I am completely blind without them.

2.   I can hardly wait for   Graduation! These next two weeks better fly by!

3.  The quickest way to my heart is     giving me anything chocolate       because    my mother passed on her chocolate addiction to her daughter.

4. A little known fact about me is that    I can roll my stomach. It is somewhat creepy but also kind of cool.

5. The best part about my job is    I get free coffee! I would die without caffeine. Working at Starbucks I get one free pound of coffee a week, plus if I go into the store when I'm off the clock I get my espresso beverages for free.

6. Something I just couldn't live without is    my ipod. It keeps me focused when I run, do homework, etc.

7.  Something useful that I wish I knew how to do is   drive a standard. Many have attempted to teach me, and many have failed. For some reason the clutch doesn't compute.SOMEONE HELP!

Have a good weekend!!
